• Matthew is a massive Celtic FC fan with roots from County Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. Matthew started like most kids at age 8 as a field player for Greenbelt Boys & Girls Club as a Left Winger. He later moved back to defense as a Left Back, and then by age 10 began playing as a Goalkeeper. This experience gave Matthew a well-rounded look at the game of Soccer.

• From Age 8 to 13-years-old, Matthew played Baseball for Greenbelt Boys & Girls holding a .312 Batting Average and 95% Fielding Average. During the 1994 Baseball Season, Matthew at age 14 moved to the Coaching Staff responsible for warming up pitchers, stats, and scorekeeping. Since the Fall of 1994, Matthew has primarily focused on playing and coaching Goalkeepers, sometimes defenders as well since they go hand-in-hand. Matthew currently holds a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Certification. For the past 28 years, Coach Matthew has focused on instructing and watching players grow through the game.
